12. Gimli - Jeremy Crawford
Jeremy Crawford is best known to audiences who have watched The Witcher on Netflix. His presence as an actor is relatively limited, but that is not to discredit the work he has done. Appearing in projects like Titans and some great TV shorts the actor whilst not highly known is experienced.
He would make the perfect fit for the role of Gimli as displayed in his Witcher performance. Within that show, he played Yarpen Zigrin with an intense energy that made him a character to watch out for. His Scottish accent combined with his adrenaline-filled delivery and sense of comic timing, would transition perfectly over to the role of Gimli.
The beard that he boasts in the show is also very fitting for the look of the character. Ultimately his presence would make for a strong aura and help him to stand out amongst the rest of the fellowship.
Gimli in the original trilogy always came across as a comedy character that served little purpose. Casting someone with as much aggressive energy as Crawford would help to deliver on some nuance for the role.
