Recasting X-Men: 14 Actors Who Need To Replace Singer's Mutants

There's a reason why most of the actors on this list have been in their late teens or early 20s at the youngest, because child versions of superheroes are so frequently terrible and unnecessary.

That said, there's one roll of the dice worth considering. It's suggested in X2 that Pyro comes from a dysfunctional home, and so making the character younger could result in some very interesting drama indeed.

We wouldn't suggest risking just any child actor, but rather Pierce Gagnon, who gave one of the most memorable child performances in recent cinema history as Cid in Rian Johnson's Looper.

He can clearly do intensity just fine despite his young age, and by the time the next main X-Men movie begins filming, he'll probably be in his mid-teens anyway, setting him up to be an Xavier student in the subsequent film.
