Recasting X-Men: 14 Actors Who Need To Replace Singer's Mutants

11. Gary Oldman - Beast

X Men Kirsten Stewart Rogue
Summit Entertainment & Fox

Gary Oldman is a master of disguise almost beyond compare, having immersed himself like a chameleon into dozens of near-unrecognisable roles, and so blue-ing up for Beast would simply be another fantastic addition to that collection of colourful characters.

With Nicholas Hoult's younger Beast likely bailing from the franchise along with McAvoy, Fassbender and Lawrence, it's possible Kelsey Grammer could be asked to come back after his well-received work on X-Men: The Last Stand, but given the jarring age gap between Hoult and Grammer, they might opt for someone a few years younger (and, well, someone who doesn't look their age quite as much as Grammer).

Yes, it's tough to believe that the 25-year-old Hoult (at the time of shooting) was playing someone around 40 years of age in Apocalypse, and the leap to Oldman playing a 50-ish-year-old Hank McCoy will deter some, but let's face it, the guy would look totally bada** in both human and Beast form.
