20 Recent Horror Movies You'll Never Watch Again

Last year's comedy horror-thriller Borderline came and went with barely a peep, but this totally deranged tale of a pop star (Samara Weaving) being terrorised by a dangerously obsessive fan (Ray Nicholson) is nothing if not a fiercely unique offering, elevated by Nicholson's riotously swinging-for-the-fences performance.

Yet this is also a film that's unhinged to the point that many are liable to bounce off it and never come back. 

Filmmaker Jimmy Warden's script has rough edges and skirts conventions at every turn.

Furthermore, despite the central cat-and-mouse game being featured prominently in the movie's marketing, it doesn't kick in until much later, with Nicholson and Weaving actually not sharing the screen all that often.

Between Nicholson's high-energy shtick, the script's overpowering weirdness, and Weaving's smaller-than-expected role, Borderline isn't a film primed to bring people back for more, but it is at least a laudably singular take on the played-out home invasion formula.
