Red Notice Review: 5 Ups & 5 Downs
3. The RIDICULOUS Twists & Turns
No spoilers here of course, but while Red Notice's script is largely totally predictable and by-the-book, there are a few moments, especially in the third act, that might catch viewers off-guard.
To be blunt, the finale almost rivals Wild Things with the sheer number of reveals, context-altering flashbacks, and turns of allegiance thrown at the audience, all of it knowingly silly enough to be fun rather than annoyingly convoluted.
You're not really expected to dissect the logic of anything you're told but simply go along for the barmy ride, and in that regard the film's later bombardment of rug-pulls and surprises - including a certain star cameo you may not expect - allow the film to end on an entertaining high.
It's a shame the script isn't operating at this level of energy and ridiculousness throughout, but it at least saves the best for last.
