2. The Bittersweet Ending

Reign of the Supermen ends on an unexpectedly bittersweet note, for while it of course celebrates the return of Superman and serves as a great summation of why fans love him, it also doesn't forget the human casualties brought about by Darkseid and co.

For instance, a moment in which a woman observes the corpse of her boyfriend, who was transformed into a super-powered entity by Cyborg Superman and died in the final battle, is genuinely unsettling.

Given that even the live-action DC movies have struggled in the past to fully reconcile the human cost of superhero showdowns, Reign of the Supermen bowed out in surprisingly classy, thoughtful fashion.
