Reservoir Dogs: Every Character & Performance Ranked
5. ‘Nice Guy’ Eddie Cabot - Chris Penn
A step up from his old man, ‘Nice Guy’ Eddie Cabot is a great supporting character in the Reservoir Dogs story. From his revealed friendship to Vic Vega (AKA Mr. Blonde) to his dialogue with the characters when the film comes to a boiling point, this was a solid performance from Chris Penn.
What puts ‘Nice Guy’ over his father Joe is his switch from the niceness to his near snap at the end. During the Mexican standoff Eddie demanding Mr. White lower his gun raises the tension and presents us with the climax of the story excellently. Eddie Cabot is a big part of that climax.
He's not really one of the characters nor performances you immediately think of, given the rest of the cast, but Eddie Cabot is a necessary and solid part of Tarantino’s crime tale.
