1. Dr. Kozak - The Shaggy Dog (2006)

I try to forget that Robert Downey Jr. agreed to do a movie called
The Shaggy Dog. Surely the fact that Tim Allen has signed on to star is enough of a warning. Still, this opportunity came in the wake of Downey Jr.'s re-emergence, so perhaps there wasn't much else going at the time.
The Shaggy Dog, as you probably know, is awful in every way - unfunny, pandering to the broadest possible audience haul, and inclusive of a bizarre, ill-fitting and kind of embarrassing Downey Jr. performance. The actor plays Dr. Kozak, who (brace yourself) is trying to use the genetic code of a rare breed of dog in order to take advantage of its extraordinary lifespan and harvest it for himself. This role basically asks Downey Jr. to leap about the screen like a madman, pulling funny faces and picking up objects in his mouth as he slowly transforms into a dog. It's weird, and completely beneath the actor. The movie itself offers no further redemption: a "career killer" in every sense. Right, Tim Allen?
