2. Jim Scott - Danger Zone (1996)

Even Robert Downey Jr. has admitted he did this one for the cash induction: "500 grand for two weeks work," he once dead-panned. Aside from looking absolutely terrible in this movie (long hair really doesn't work on him, does it?), there's an underlying element of comedy running through
Danger Zone that was entirely unintentional - it's two or three jokes away from being a genuine spoof. I mean, check out the trailer for this thing below and see what I mean. Set around a story about a mining crew who get caught up in African Civil War, Downey Jr. doesn't really seem like himself here, and there's nothing about his performance that particularly stands out, except for a truly terrible southern accent that he insists on using all the way through. Downey, usually great with accents, just sounds completely off - it's more like a parody accent, akin to something you'd find in
Tropic Thunder. Oh, and Billy Zane co-stars, which has never been a good thing.
