Robin Hood Trailer Reaction: 3 Ups & 2 Downs

2. The Editing

What the trailer lacks in story, it makes it up in other ways - namely with the editing techniques used throughout. The two minute preview is rife with quick-cuts, and never stays on the one shot for too long. As any video editor would know, quick-cutting is used to increase the pace and build the tension, and the Robin Hood trailer certainly achieves this. It also helps to raise a lot of questions - questions that can only be answered by going to see the film.

From the action-sequences, to the conversations between Robin and Little John, to a shot of the protagonist making out with his love interest, Maid Marian (Eve Hewson), the cutting never stops throughout the trailer, giving us the impression that the movie's narrative will be nothing short of heart-racing - which is exactly the way it should be.
