RoboCop Remake Trailer: 5 Things We Learned

2. The Illusion Of Free Will

Sin Título 51 That phrase really called my attention when I first heard it. We've now established that this Robocop will be self-aware of what he is and that he will be slowly becoming more machine than man as the film progresses. We know now that Murphy won't have complete control of his actions. This is a very strange concept, since it's already established that he will be self-aware having a system pretty much controlling most of what he does in order to avoid giving him too much freedom of choice will be very hard to pull off. However the overall concept is quite interesting once you think about it. Omnicorp wants to release Drones in the US in order to stop crime, however the government won't allow for a thing like that to happen. Their solution is to put a man inside the machine in order to please the people, however they will be secretly controlling everything he does in order to make sure he won't do something stupid. I'm really excited to see something like that on screen.
