Robocop: The Evolution Of Paul Verhoeven's Classic In 7 Trailers

4. Robocop 3 (1993)

Robocop 3 was the beginning of the end for the franchise and proof - if you needed it - that Orion should have pulled the plug with part 2 or the film should have been dragged down with them when they went into bankruptcy. Firstly in a trailer that lasts just shy of 2 minutes it is a mistake to not include your protagonist until 42 seconds in especially when the prior 41 seconds look like low budget, made for television drivel. By the 43rd second you are already aware that Peter Weller has bolted and been replaced by Robert John Burke who looks the part but sounds absolutely nothing like you'd want him to. Then you have scenes of him using his built in flame thrower (!?) and to top it off horrendous scenes where he does his very best Iron Man impression and flies through the air dispensing justice. Do not be fooled! If you haven't seen any of the Robocop movies do not be lured into thinking part 3 is amazing because Robocop can fly because believe me when I tell you it is not.
