4. It's All About Teenagers
This isn't a film that is coincidentally about teenagers that could really happen to anyone at any age -
Twilight could theoretically happen to a college-age girl or a woman in her mid-twenties, for example. A
Runaways adaptation would be a perfect example of a film made for teenagers about teenagers. The premise of
Runaways is specifically about teens and adolescents running away when they discover their parents' darkness and villainy - much like how
The Hunger Games connected with themes of sacrifice and growing up too soon,
Runaways too deals with these exact themes and adds the worry of teenagers that they're going to grow up to be like their parents and have all their negative traits. A serious worry considering these teens have supervillains to call Mum and Dad.
