With filming well underway on Zack Snyder€™sMan Of Steel, his reboot of comic book favourite Superman, photographs from the set have emerged today of Gladiator star Russell Crowe in full costume as he takes on the role of Jor-El, Superman€™s father. The spy photos published by the Mailonline caught Crowe enjoying a quick cigarette break during the Vancouver shoot and reveal for once again how Snyder has taken inspiration from recent DC Comic interpretations of the character for his film. Plus, it seems Crowe has packed on the pounds a bit since we last saw him in The Next Three Days last year; According to Screen Rant, Snyder€™s Man Of Steel storyline will be an adaptation of recent Superman comics such as Superman: Secret Origin, Superman: Birthright and the most recent DC €œNew 52€ reboot which sees Superman wear a costume of Kryptonian armour without his red pants hence the reason why they were controversially missing from the recent photos of Henry Cavill in the lead role. Man of Steel is filming now for a June 14th, 2013 release. Henry Cavill is the Man of Steel, a blonde haired Amy Adams is Lois Lane and they star alongside Michael Shannon (General Zod), Diane Lane (Ma Kent) Kevin Costner (Pa Kent), Russell Crowe (Jor-El), Ayelet Zurer (Lara Lor-Van) and Laurence Fishburne (Perry White). Zack Snyder (Sucker Punch, Watchmen) directs.
