Sandra Bullock Has TROUBLE WITH THE CURVE With Eastwood

Twitch say Oscar winner Sandra Bullock is in talks to play Clint Eastwood's daughter in Trouble With The Curve, a new Warner Bros drama about a close to retiring and losing his sight baseball scout who takes one final trip with his daughter to Atlanta to check out a hot shot new talent. Eastwood plays the aging scout, Bullock would play the daughter. To us the film sounds like a sure-fire hit with a back-and-forth dynamic that will likely appeal to the wider, older audience demographic that helped Gran Torino and The Blind Side succeed so spectacularly. Trouble With The Curve is 81 year old Eastwood's return to acting three years after what we thought would be his final on camera role. As many know the Hollywood legend elected to retire from acting and focus all his efforts on directing with 2008€s Gran Turino always seen as the final chapter on that side of his illustrious career. And Eastwood clearly thought so too but when his close friend, frequent assistant director & long term Malpaso production business partner Robert Lorenz called him and asked him to star in his directorial debut, Eastwood agreed as a 'thank you' to him. This will be the veteran's first acting gig where he hasn€™t directed himself in the two decades since Wolfgang Petersen helmed him in 1993€s In The Line Of Fire. You know there was once upon a time when film after film I would denounce Bullock as the worst chooser of roles in Hollywood (think Murder by Numbers and Forces of Nature) but lately she's been on fire. After her Oscar win she's moved on to lead Alfonso Cuaron's mostly one-woman show space drama Gravity (which sounds ambitious as hell and opens next year) and she can next be seen in Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close that there's talk she absolutely kicks ass in. Now it looks like she's doing an actor's movie with Eastwood that just has winning concept written all over it. Let's hope she signs on.
