20 Most Satisfying Horror Movie Villain Deaths EVER

16. Captain Rhodes - Day of the Dead

Captain Henry Rhodes (Joseph Pilato) is by far the most memorably despicable character in George A. Romero's entire Night of the Living Dead franchise - a card-carrying psychopath who is basically the last person you'd ever want to be trapped in a bunker with during an undead apocalypse.

Rhodes rules the bunker with an iron fist, is quick to anger, freely kills anyone who he perceives as disobeying him, and then shows everyone who he really is when the zombies breach the bunker and he leaves his men to their own fates.

But Rhodes sure gets his just desserts, as at the end of the movie, when all hell breaks loose, he's shot by zombie Bub (Sherman Howard), who sarcastically salutes him before he's torn apart by a pack of zombies.

Rhodes does get one hell of a badass sign-off, though, telling the zombies as they devour him, "Choke on 'em!"
