Sausage Party Review: 5 Ups And 5 Downs
1. The Ending Is A Best Of The Year Contender
As we'll see in the downs, for much of the middle part Sausage Party risks becoming a rather flat experience, but rest assured Rogen and co really pull it back in the final ten minutes.
It's a sequence you imagine the entire film was conceived on, something so outrageous it finally feels like the movie is paying off the premise and would get even the most disconnected viewer back on board (phew, that's spoiler free).
There's also a rather neat set-up for a sequel, one that promises a very different film in an extremely meta way. While that may not be necessary, it's reassuring that they won't just coast on the same basic idea.
