11. Judy Hicks & Her Son Get Murdered
Scream 4's Judy Hicks (Marley Shelton) makes a brief reappearance in the film, now promoted from deputy sheriff to actual sheriff following Dewey's enforced retirement.
Sadly she's really only back for one reason, and that's to die.
Judy gets a call from Ghostface, who claims that they're about to kill her son Wes (Dylan Minnette), who in an amusing nod to Psycho is showering while at home alone.
An incensed Judy races home to try and save her son, only to be greeted by Ghostface, who promptly stabs her to death in her own driveway, in broad daylight no less.
That's not the end, though: Wes eventually ends up attacked by Ghostface inside the house, and in one of the series' most brutal kills yet, gets a knife stabbed through his neck in nauseatingly gory detail.
