Scream: 20 WTF Moments

One of the more infuriating subplots late in the film occurs when Sam, Tara, and Richie make the admittedly smart decision to do the one thing nobody ever does in these movies: "get the f**k out of Woodsboro."

But their plan is foiled when Tara realises she's lost her inhaler and must've left it elsewhere.

This forces a frustrated Richie to turn the car around and head back to Woodsboro, in what at the time feels like a massively trope-y contrivance to keep these characters within Ghostface's orbit.

Of course that changes once we learn that Richie is one of the killers, and that he took the inhaler to ensure Sam and Tara couldn't leave town. It's still pretty flimsy storytelling all in all, but functional enough.
