15. Dewey Points Out The Killer Right Away
Dewey ends up pulled back into the fray when he's visited by Sam and her boyfriend Richie (Jack Quaid) after Sam is attacked by Ghostface at the hospital.
Sam wants to talk to someone with first-hand experience of dealing with the killer, prompting an exasperated Dewey to immediately grill Sam about how she met Richie and whether he was previously aware of the fact that she's Billy Loomis' daughter.
Dewey then lays down the "rules" for surviving a Stab movie, #1 being "never trust the love interest."
This is all especially amusing considering that, later on, Richie is indeed revealed to be one of the killers, and the writers quite cleverly put this in there early to try and throw suspicion away from him.
In the climax, Richie even jokes about it, noting that Dewey essentially cracked the case right away.
