Scream VI Review: 6 Ups & 4 Downs

4. The BRUTAL Kills

Scream VI
Paramount

The new Ghostface was hyped up as the most aggressive and violent yet, and in that regard they basically live up to the hype. The deaths in this film are nasty, with characters being stabbed in various orifices and body parts sure to leave even die-hard gore-hounds wincing.

Regardless of your opinion on how Ghostface's motives shake out, you can feel their ferocity in each of the kill sequences, nicely upping the brutality quotient that audiences have come to expect.

After all, this is the first Scream movie to feature a shotgun-totting Ghostface - a controversial choice, perhaps, but in the context of the scene in which it's featured, it absolutely works, and only further confirms the much-stated claim that this Ghostface isn't like the others.
