SDCC Rumour: David Goyer to direct WONDER WOMAN for 2013 release?

Is the Batman Begins screenwriter about to be unveiled as the writer/director of a new Wonder Woman movie?

The Playlist have heard that before Comic Con is over on Sunday night -- David Goyer will be announced by WB/Legendary as the main man spearheading a new Wonder Woman film, that is set for a release in Summer 2013. Playlist's sources are unsure whether this means Goyer will be writing or directing, but I would hazard a guess it's both. Goyer was the screenwriter of Batman Begins and alongside Chris Nolan - mapped out the trajectory of The Dark Knight and next year's Batman 3. He also pitched a treatment to Nolan for a Superman reboot earlier this year that is now also in development at WB/Legendary, and we expected him to be heavily in the running to write/direct that, though presumably Goyer is more interested in Wonder Woman. We've always figured Goyer was a better writer (Dark City) than director (Blade: Trinity), though if he is given the chance to write/direct this, we'll be happy for him as it's kinda been long overdue. He was previously spearheading an adaptation of The Flash that WB decided to nail in the head, and had written a magnificent screenplay for a Magneto spin-off at Fox, that also went unrealised. We think he deserves his time in the sun.
