Sean Bean's 10 Greatest Deaths

4. Patriot Games (1992)

patriotgames The Jack Ryan series will presumably re-enter the spotlight once again later this year when Kenneth Branagh€™s reboot of the series is released with Chris Pine in the lead role. This will perhaps renew interest in the original trilogy of films, released between 1990 and 1995, which starred Alec Baldwin and then Harrison Ford in titular role. In Patriot Games, the second film in the series, Sean Bean made his Hollywood debut as Sean Miller, a terrorist belonging to a breakaway group of the Provisional Irish Republican Army. The group attempts to kidnap a member of the Royal Family, but are thwarted by Ryan, who kills Miller€™s brother Patrick in the process. Freed from prison by his comrades, Miller€™s group wish to proceed with another kidnap attempt on Holmes, though Miller himself wishes to switch his focus to revenge on Ryan and takes a number of subordinates to America with him. After trying and failing to kill Ryan and injuring both his wife and daughter, the film€™s final showdown sees Ryan and Miller engaging in hand-to-hand combat on a speeding boat, which results in Bean being impaled on an anchor and left to die in a fiery inferno (at 01.02 in the original Bean death collection video.) Here's the villain biting the dust again...
