20 Secret Movie Sub-Plots You Didn't Notice

Creed II was a brutal boxing sequel that placed Adonis "Donnie" Creed (Michael B. Jordan) against Viktor Drago (Florian Munteanu), the son of the man who killed his father in the ring back in Rocky IV. 

There battle was one for the ages, an emotional clash of the titans built on trauma and familial expectations, that ended with Creed victorious. 

Given their history, it was a mighty shock when Viktor turned up again in Creed III to help Donnie train for his latest fight against old friend Dame Anderson (Jonathan Majors), the two sharing some friendly banter and Viktor offering words of encouragement for his old rival. 

Though we never get to see how the pair patched up their animosity after the violent events of Creed II, this is one subplot that's wonderfully wholesome, suggesting that even with all their history, these two fighters were able to become friends off-screen. Simply lovely.
