Shang-Chi: 21 WTF Moments

4. The Totally Insane Kaiju Fight

The third act is where Shang-Chi gets a little messier and starts to lose some people, because its huge-scale CGI-driven shenanigans just feel like such a typical way for a scriptwriter to end an MCU movie when they've run out of good ideas.

The absurdly bombastic final battle is basically an epic kaiju fight, as the evil dragon known as the Dweller-in-Darkness - which had been using its abilities to try and convince Wenwu to free it - battling a benevolent dragon known as the Great Protector.

What follows is a chaotic car crash of monster-on-monster mayhem, which you're either likely to go giddy for or just find completely and utterly exhausting.

Either way, few expected the movie to end on anything but a fight between father and son, which also happens yet is rather brief by comparison.
