9. The Worst Severed Hand Effects Ever

Early on in Sharknado 2, Tara Reid's character April has her hand bitten off by a shark during the insane Sharknado attack on her flight, and spends a disappointing amount of the movie's remainder in hospital and off-screen. However, when she decides to discharge herself from the hospital in the middle of the shark attack, we're given a fine glimpse at the movie's hilariously awful make-up effects, whereby little attempt at all has been made to realistically suggest that April has actually lost her hand. All they've done is put Reid's arm in a sling, tucked it back to make it look shorter than her other arm, and then taped her fist up in bandages. It probably took someone about two minutes to mock-up, though the mayhem moves fast enough that it's easy to forget about...at least once you've spent a few moments laughing hysterically at how cheap the effect is.
