1. The Movie Will Feature A Significant Time Jump

Given how far off the movie is, actual plot details are rather thin on the ground. In fact, we didn't have a clue about its story until quite recently, when Jude Law let slip a few details about its premise.

EW recently interviewed the actor to talk about his role in the upcoming Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes Of Grindelwald, and during their talk, the topic of Sherlock Holmes 3 was brought up. Here's what Law had to say:

"We hope to propel the story forward. As always, the essence of the story is their codependency. We're going to examine, since it's been several years since we've seen them, we're going to play up the fact that they haven't seen each other for a long time either."

So it appears that here, art will imitate life; just as Watson hasn't seen Holmes in many years, neither have we.

The two are such a notorious pair so it will be interesting to see them reunite after so long, and judging by Law's comments, the movie will wring a lot of drama (and comedy) out of that setup. Let's hope their dynamic hasn't grown old and stale.
