The Alien franchise is an oddity for Sigourney Weaver: the iconic series features some of her best performances and remarkably some of her worst. Alien: Resurrection was a sequel that showed promise and a certain love for the franchise, but its predecessor Alien 3 never even exhibited the faintest glimmer of hope in regards to being a great continuation of the series. Its premise was nonsensical, forced and extremely coincidental, and the setting was duller than a rusted blade. Weaver's performance is easily the the star's weakest turn as the unlucky Ripley and sadly the most disappointing performance in her whole filmography. You could argue she has worst performances in her filmography but after the sheer awesomeness of her Ripley role in Aliens 1 and 2, this one is easily the most criminal and such wins the unwanted prize of her worst role.
