Sin City: A Dame To Kill For - 15 Easter Eggs & References You Must See
6. Nice Gun... In yet another nod to the inspiration for key characters in the Sin City universe, there's one aimed at movie gun-spotters that you might not have noticed first time around. As Nancy plans her vengeance on Senator Roark for ruining her life and making Hartigan kill himself to protect her (a pointless act since her life is still utterly ruined by her past) she shows off her own personal arsenal - a gigantic hand cannon that will pack an almighty kick. That gun, of course was once wielded by Hollywood's most famous Magnum fan - Harry Callaghan in the Dirty Harry series - and was erroneously labelled "the most powerful handgun in the world" by him. That all becomes very interesting when you realise that Hartigan's Sin City story was designed by Frank Miller to be Dirty Harry's final story, after he was disappointed by The Dead Pool, and while he changed the lead cop's name to Hartigan, he did give the famous surname to Nancy, who clearly also inherited his gun.
