Sin City: A Dame To Kill For - Ranking The Returning Characters

2. Dwight McCarthy

Long before he had Clive Owen's face, Dwight looked like Josh Brolin and was caught up in the alluring web of Ava Lord. Owen did a solid job of bringing Dwight to life in the original film, even if his story was sandwiched between the arguably more interesting "The Hard Goodbye" and "That Yellow Bastard," but Brolin is a great actor who will undoubtedly help ensure that the title story won't be entirely eclipsed by the strengths of the others. The appeal of seeing Dwight alongside Mickey Rourke's Marv and more time being spent on his relationship with the ladies of Old Town, particularly Gail and Miho, is high, though fans are simply just excited to see the story finally play out on-screen after a near decade of waiting. Though we have a feeling Owen might step back into the role near the end of the story since this isn't a complete recasting of the character in the same vein as, say, Bob -- for reasons you'll just have to wait and see if you haven't read the graphic novels -- we're still looking forward to seeing what Brolin brings to the table. Dwight is one of Sin City's most important protagonists and we're glad that he's back in full force for a Round 2 that will shed some light on "The Big Fat Kill" and retroactively make watching it all the more fulfilling.
