1. Mallory Is The New M
It's another one we all saw coming, and though it's not much of a surprise to anyone, it is a satisfying point on which to end the film. Ralph Fiennes' brilliantly underplayed government suit Mallory, who has been of questionable allegiance and integrity throughout the entire film - proves to be an ultimately likeable, level-headed associate of Bond's, taking over Dench's position of M in the closing scene. It leaves us optimistic that, without Dench's massive and iconic presence, the future of the Bond series will still be left in safe hands. Fiennes, an enormously talented actor, is an inspired replacement for one of Bond's most revered performers. And that's everything you need to know about Skyfall.
