Skyfall Spoilers: 11 Biggest Secrets Revealed & Reviewed

9. The Series' First F-Bomb

Ever keen to push the boundaries since its reboot, the Bond series gets its first dalliance with foul language in Skyfall, as Judi Dench's M, in a brief moment of calm before the storm during the film's finale, asks Bond, "I really f****d this up, didn't I?". While Bond purists and those who assert, quite wrongly, that these films are made for families, might take umbrage with throwing in an "F-bomb", it crucially heightens an emotionally fraught moment, raising the tension and making it clear - given how infrequently the series even uses mild language - that something major is about to go down. It's also an important moment between Bond and M, a rare instance in which they aren't at each other's throats or playfully putting one another down; there is fear and a loss of hope as Silva and his mercenaries make their way to Bond's former home to raze it to the ground.
