Slender Man Review: 2 Ups & 7 Downs

2. That Atrocious Ending

No spoilers here - though do you really care? - but the movie's ending is the glorious cherry on top of this immensely sour cake.

The final showdown against Slender Man very nearly gets mildly interesting, but once the confrontation is over, the scene shifts to a rather random voice-over narration, offering up half-a**ed sequel-bait for a follow-up that's never coming.

It's so weird and abrupt you have to assume this is another consequence of the movie being hacked up in the editing room, because it's by turns rushed and incoherent.

On the plus side, it at least brings the film to a snappy close inside of around 85 minutes, ensuring the torturous experience doesn't outstay its welcome too much.
