Solo: A Star Wars Story - 10 Concerns Raised By The New Trailer
1. It Makes A Lando Calrissian Spin-Off Look More Appealing
It says a lot about a teaser, and the failings of said teaser, when a few flashes of Donald Glover as pirate Lando Calrissian have you leaning back in your chair and thinking: "Now there's the movie that I want to see!"
As you take in the Solo teaser trailer, after all, it actually becomes super apparent that the real movie the studio should have made should have focused on Lando Calarissian, Han's long-time friend and rival, during his own early years.
Lando's backstory is practically non-existent as far as Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi are concerned, save for a few mentions of his dealings with Han, which means that exploring what he did before those movies - in any capacity - holds minimal risk. He could have been on any number of wild, freewheeling adventures in a blockbuster that actively strengthened and fleshed out his character.
Not to mention that Glover manages to pack more charisma into a few measly shots than Ehrenreich does in the entire teaser. Hey, maybe one day?
