Solo: A Star Wars Story - 10 Concerns Raised By The New Trailer

8. The Lack Of Actual Han In The Trailer

For a movie about Han Solo, there's a surprising lack of actual Han Solo in the latest teaser trailer, aside from a banal voice-over and some flashes of his face. Are we supposed to take this as a sign of Disney's concern? Are they scared that showing fans too much Alden Ehrenreich in action will result in yet another backlash?

Because ideally you'd want to use a trailer like this to reassure fans that the guy they picked for the job was the right choice, and yet we're barely given anything meaty in order to ease our concerns. There are a few lines (none of which really work) and some "iconic" shots, but there's nowhere near enough footage of the actor just being Han Solo, selling us the performance.

You can say, hey, this is a teaser trailer, of course, and that the point of a teaser trailer is to - yes - tease audiences by not giving away too much. But surely the emphasis here should have been on Ehrenreich as Han, showing us his best charisma and swagger, instead of all the rest of the stuff they showed us.
