5. Too Many Famous Actors Makes It Hard To Suspend Disbelief

The reason it was so easy to accept the brand new characters introduced to the franchise in Star Wars: The Force Awakens stems, somewhat, from the fact that they were played by totally unknown actors and relative newcomers.

Casting actors who were the opposite of household names was a clever way to offshoot the star power of Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, and Mark Hamill, of course, and it made it easy for audiences to buy into the fact that they were part of an established cinematic universe - arguably the most famous of its kind. The same technique was used for the first Star Wars spin-off flick, Rogue One, in its casting of Felicity Jones and Diego Luna, who weren't unknown, but not exactly Brad Pitt.

Now, though, we're looking at a prequel featuring the likes of Donald Glover, Woody Harrelson, and Emilia Clarke (yes, her off Game of Thrones), and the resulting effect - as proven by the teader trailer - is, well, kind of jarring.

It's difficult to see this movie as it wants to be seen - as a prequel, a coming of age yarn - when the players are all so recognisable. Clarke, especially, seems wildly out of place, especially when she sounds so much like Daenerys Targaryen.
