Sony's Marvel Film Universe: 8 Things You Need To Know

2. Tom Holland Is Keen To Link Up With Venom

During the whole saga regarding Venom's status in the MCU, Spider-Man actor Tom Holland spoke out on the matter, and admitted that he'd love to be involved in the project given the chance.

Speaking to ScreenRant, the actor said that he'd "jump" at "any opportunity to work with Tom Hardy", and who can blame him? Hardy's prime Hollywood royalty at the moment, and seems to be in just about everything releasing, be it comic book related or otherwise. There's also the fact that he's a great pick for Eddie Brock, so the quality is there to make a truly authentic movie, given the chance.

Spidey and the Symbiote are indelibly linked in the comics, so it'll be interesting to see how Sony navigate the black suit without the web-slinger onboard for that first feature. Indeed, Brock's hatred of Peter Parker is a fairly integral aspect of the character's origin, and, while there have been deviations from the source material before, none have been so bold as to write Peter out of it entirely.

You'd think it would be inevitable that the two will cross paths at some point in the future, and while Venom has displayed an ability to stand on his own in the past, the lack of Spidey presents Sony with their hardest task yet.
