10. The Official Synopsis Suggests It's Mirroring Skyfall
One thing that has been revealed about Spectre today, but wasn't at the official announcement, is the movie's synopsis:
A cryptic message from Bonds past sends him on a trail to uncover a sinister organisation. While M battles political forces to keep the secret service alive, Bond peels back the layers of deceit to reveal the terrible truth behind SPECTRE.
A brief two sentences, there's initially appears to be little more here than what the film's title suggests - Spectre's back and Bond's going to have to take them down. Analaysing a bit more, and it reveals a story structure not dissimilar to Mendes' previous movie. There is a suggestion that the Ralph Fiennes' new head of MI6 will continue to play a similar sized role in events to Judi Dench's (traditionally M was a quick cameo from Basil Exposition), with his own subplot, while it looks like, as in Skyfall, Bond's past will continue to play an important role in events. No more of those "James Bond is a code-name" fan theories.
