After the Quantum organisation didn't appear in 2012's Skyfall, many fans wondered if that storyline would be abandoned. However, due to Jesper Christensen's (Mr. White in Casino Royale and Quantum Of Solace) return to the series, Quantum will likely have a part to play in the new film, perhaps as the title organisation. Quantum and SPECTRE have nearly identical motives and goals, and their appearances in the series have mirrored each other. In Dr. No and From Russia with Love, SPECTRE worked from the shadows and their leader was never shown, but then wasn't mentioned in Goldfinger.
