Spectre: 23 Easter Eggs & References You Need To See

3. Live And Let Die Magnetic Zip

The way Bond interacts with his "Bond girls" is very much a call-back to his usual shenanigans, even with Daniel Craig insisting his films have a different kind of female character. His dynamic with Monica Bellucci's Lucia Sciarro riffs on The Spy Who Loved Me's opening, when he kills a man and then seduces his widow. And of course there's the nod back to the infamous zip pull from Live And Let Die albeit without the magnet. Then the way Madeleine goes from defiant hater to complicit lover in the space of mere minutes is basically the model for every Bond girl relationship in the franchise's history. Finally, there's even a callback in his new relationship with Moneypenny. Like in Tomorrow Never Dies, Bond is outraged at the idea of Moneypenny having a lover, and a real life, as if he's the only person allowed to have any sex.
