5. There Will Be Similarities With On Her Majesty's Secret Service
It's highly unlikely that Bond is going to get married in Spectre like he did in On Her Majesty's Secret Service (that plot device has already been re-imagined with Vesper Lynd in Casino Royale), but there's much more to the George Lazenby Bond film that many remember solely for that fact. In it, Bond pursues Blofeld to the Swiss Alps in search for the villainous leader of SPECTRE in attempt to bring him to justice for his endless crimes. With the announcement that Christoph Waltz will be playing Oberhauser in the next Bond instalment, there's some interesting parallells to be drawn with Spectre and OHMSS. Oberhauser - an original character created by Ian Fleming - was Bond's good friend and ski instructor who mysteriously went missing with little explanation as to what happened to him. Beyond that, the character had little purpose or development which is presumably why the character has been omitted from every Bond film. Until now. If the character's original profession remains in Spectre, then it looks like Bond will be partaking in a spot of skiing next year.
