Spectre: 8 Things Sam Mendes Doesn't Want You To Know

2. Andrew Scott Is The Scheming Head Of MI5

Officially released information regarding Andrew Scott's role in Spectre claims Scott is playing 'Denbigh', a man invariably described as a member of the British government and an MI5 agent, but the leaked script reveals there's more to it than that. Like how Denbigh is actually C, who's not just a member of MI5, but the head of it.

It rings true for a Mendes Bond film - prior to Skyfall's release, Ralph Fiennes's new M was referred to only as Mallory, and his intentions were initially unclear. In Spectre, it seems Fiennes's new M will have his work cut out, as a proposed merger between MI5 and MI6 sees C battling M for the top position.

The final third of the leaked Spectre script suggests there's actually further reason to distrust Scott's C, but seeing as that portion of the film has since been changed, it's best taken with a pinch of salt. What is clear is that C will be an antagonist, only his villain will be battling M, not 007.
