Spectre Trailer Breakdown - Everything You Missed And Need To See

The Day Of The Dead Opening

The trailer begins, like the finished film will, with a set piece in Mexico City. We've already had a tease of how beautifully orchestrated Spectre's opening recreation of The Day of the Dead recreation is in a previous featurette, but now get to see some of the explosive action, including Daniel Craig wearing a skull mask (which is very cool on its own).
The trailer later reveals potentially why it went wrong, but doesn't give anything to suggest what exactly Bond's doing in Mexico City. Given the telling off he's getting from M and the quip he "was taking some overdue holiday", this probably wasn't an MI6 sanctioned mission.
Although the opening doesn't provide much initially, there are some shots later in the trailer that expand what's going on. Most prominently, there's a shot of James walking out into the ruins of a destroyed building, which is probably the aftermath of the explosion seen in the opening. The implication with the shot's voiceover is that it's Spectre behind the destruction, suggesting that once again the cold opening will be directly linked to the rest of the plot.
Later on, there's a sequence of shots that show an unmasked Bond chasing down a suspect wearing a white suit, who's he's subsequently seen grappling with on the side of a helicopter. That means that gravity-defying copter-flip is all part of this Mexico City cock-up. When the production said Spectre was going to have the biggest opening ever, they sure weren't kidding.
