Spider-Man: 13 Film Moments That Don't Make ANY Sense

5. Amazing Spider-Man 2 Is WAY Too Convenient

There are some plotholes that you have to ignore in order to enjoy a movie. Why does Superman look human? Why can he speak perfect English? Because if he didn't, there would be no story. What I'm trying to say is that plotholes are inserted into a story out of convenience.

However, Amazing Spider-Man 2 takes that to a whole new level. Peter Parker girlfriend, Gwen Stacey, happens to work at Oscorp where Parker conveniently obtained his spiderpowers. Max Dillon, who will become a supervillain, coincidentally works there too.

The CEO, Norman Osborn, is dying so he bequeathes the company to his son, Harry, who Parker claims was his childhood friend. But if they are friends, why didn't Parker mention this once when he visited Oscorp in Amazing Spider-Man?

If you think that is too convenient, it gets worse. When Parker smashes his calculator, he finds some subway tokens inside. When he inserts them into the token box at the subway station, it activates a secret train carriage. Inside, he turns on a laptop, where he finds a video of his father, Richard, stating that his blood was injected into the spider that gave Parker his powers. Peter Parker only obtained spiderpowers because he was genetically compatible with the arachnid since it was made from Richard 's DNA. Of EVERYONE that could have been bitten by that spider, it happened to be the only person on Earth that could have become Spider-Man.

Also, why did Richard hide the tokens in a calculator? Did he expect Parker to smash it open at some point in his life? Why didn't he just leave a note or something?
