Another rumor that got far more traction that it could have if false, and to be honest, it could have been a great casting for the late noughties era of Maguire's Spider-Man. Was Anne Hathaway supposed to play Felicia Hardy's Black Cat? The character was noticeably absent from the Raimiverse, and given how easily Hathaway slipped into the role of DC's Catwoman, it is hard not to think that she got the idea somewhere.

However, continuing Raimi's maligned idea for Spider-Man 4 would see a spin on the classic Black Cat story and have Hardy as a new villain called Vultress. Around 2009, when Raimi was still attached to a fourth film, audiences were told that the next film would feature a father and daughter team up (and still shoehorn in Campbell's Mysterio). Vultress would still be Felicia, but surprise surprise, her masked villain father would be Vulture. If you think Hathaway would have been superb as Hardy, wait till you find out who else missed out on Vulture
