3. Green Goblin II (James Franco)
Yes, it's another Harry Osborn - and another Green Goblin for that matter - but Marvel Studios could do something very unexpected with the returning James Franco. Rather than having him reprise the role of Harry, he could instead play the Marvel Cinematic Universe's Norman Osborn!
At 42, he's definitely the right age, and this would give Franco the chance to make up for that disappointing turn as "Green Goblin II" in Spider-Man 3.
Under the watchful eye of Marvel Studios, Franco could deliver a killer performance and play a completely unhinged, sadistic version of Norman who does the comic books justice. Honestly, the actor is even someone you can picture suiting up in the classic green and purple costume, and as recasting goes, this would be a really cool move of Marvel's part.
Sure, he wouldn't be playing the same character, but he could take the best of both to deliver a definitive version of the Green Goblin who could plague Spider-Man, the MCU, and the characters in Sony Pictures' Universe of Marvel Characters.
