One rumour that has everyone intrigued comes from Mikey Sutton - who has reportedly been correct about a number of Marvel-related issues in the past, including the Fox/Marvel deal back in 2015.

As also revealed on the Lords of the Long Box YouTube channel, Sutton claims that the main villain of Spider-Man 3 will be none other than Dmitri Smerdyakov - otherwise known as The Chameleon. While that news is enticing, it's not exactly groundbreaking given that the Marvel character is one of the more commonly-associated Spidey villains. What is game-changing about this scoop is how that would impact the film's plot.

Apparently, the film would carry on from the cliffhanger ending of Spider-Man: Far From Home, where Peter Parker has to cope in a world in which everyone knows his true identity. Meanwhile, the Chameleon being the master of disguise that he is would use Peter's identity to further the damage done to Spidey's reputation by Mysterio.

A battle of identities would certainly be a compelling foundation for the film as it would, in many ways, serve as the perfect conclusion to the Sony/MCU Spider-Man trilogy - as it would put greater odds in his way, allowing him to overcome negative public perception in order to become the larger-than-life hero he is in the comics.
