Spider-Man 3: So Could Kraven Be The Mysterious New Villain?
"Bring me the head of Peter Parker"? Only one man for the job...
SPOILERS FOR SPIDER-MAN: FAR FROM HOME FOLLOW.
Thanks to the post-credits for Spider-Man: Far From Home, we know that Peter Parker is going to be a wanted man when we see him next in the MCU.
Having been implicated as a villain by Mysterio's ingenious dying declaration, Peter now faces a situation where not only New York, but the entire world thinks he killed a beloved new hero who saved everyone from the Elementals before trying to kill innocent people too. This was Mysterio's greatest ploy and his mightiest strike against Tony Stark: he soured his legacy and turned his defacto heir into a monster. At least in perception.
The set up is brilliant, because it means that Peter will be in the cross-hairs for legitimate police forces, everyday people AND any villain that might hold a grudge against him. The likes of Shocker and Michael Mando's Scorpion for instance, who are in prison because of him, or the Tinkerer who remains at large, as well as all of Mysterio's "gang" of disgruntled former Stark employees. In that respect, it would be fairly easy for a puppet-master type villain - even J Jonah Jameson, in fact - to bring together a strike team to try and take him down.
But what if Jameson - or another mysterious villain behind the scenes like Norman Osborn - hired someone even more specialist to track Peter Parker in hiding and bring him his head. There's only one man for the job when you put it like that... the great Kraven.
When you think about it, Spider-Man 3 has the potential to be a sort of John Wick 3 style story, with Peter having to fight his way out of New York and having a bad guy with such specialist skills as Kraven makes a lot of sense. Typically, he's been obsessed with the idea of bringing Spider-Man down to prove himself as a hunter, because he is a challenging prey like no other. Of course he'd be delighted with the idea of bringing in Spidey in the MCU too.
There's bound to be a bounty put on Spider-Man's head, possibly as a distraction for a villain to take over New York (that REALLY fits something you'd expect of Norman Osborn), and it's all set up rather perfect for Kraven to appear.
Now all we need is a perfect casting choice like Hugh Jackman. Because he definitely is perfect for it.
