Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse Review - 8 Ups & 2 Downs

5. The Superb Ensemble Voice Cast

But what would all this be without some truly terrific voice acting? And like the first film, it's another area where Across the Spider-Verse absolutely delivers beyond all expectations.

Shameik Moore is once again a terrific Miles and Hailee Steinfeld brings serious dimension to Gwen's expanded role in the sequel, while Jason Schwartzman is excellent as the villainous The Spot, Oscar Isaac is ferocious as Spider-Man 2099, and Daniel Kaluuya steals basically every scene he's in as Spider-Punk.

Elsewhere Luna Lauren VĂ©lez again brings heart and humour to Miles' mother Rio, Jake Johnson is perfect as Peter B. Parker (who is now a father), and other uproarious work can't even be mentioned because it'd surely count as a spoiler.

Not a single vocal performance puts a foot wrong - this is one of the finest ensembles of any animated film ever, and everybody clearly brought their A-game to the table.
