9. Flashbacks Introduce Uncle Ben

The Rumour: Flashback sequences introduce Uncle Ben, reveal his bond with Peter and, of course, depict his inevitable demise.

The Truth: Thankfully, Uncle Ben remains a mythic, scarcely-hinted at character in the MCU's continuity, Peter's tragic backstory alluded to but never indulged with an exposition dump or needless flashback, considering Ben's death has already been shown twice on screen over the last 15 years.

There's something haunting in its own way about Ben never even being shown in a photo in the Parker household, and honestly there's no elaboration on this needed, especially not during the new Spidey's first proper movie out of the gate.

There's no Uncle Ben, and that's just fine.
